Moscow concert Hall fire shooting- Gunmen Kill at Least 60,145 injured

Russia’s Federal Security Service said 60 people died and 145 were wounded in an attack Friday at a Moscow concert hall. The attack, which Russian authorities are investigating as terrorism, is the deadliest in Russia in recent years.

The Islamic State group claimed responsibility for a brazen attack on a large concert hall in Moscow on Frida. The Islamic State group claimed responsibility for the attack in a statement posted on affiliated channels on social media. A U.S. intelligence official told The Associated Press that U.S. intelligence agencies had learned the group’s branch in Afghanistan was planning an attack in Moscow and shared the information with Russian officials.

Several gunmen burst into a large concert hall on the edge of Moscow, one of the largest and most popular music venues in the Moscow area, on Friday and sprayed the crowd with automatic gunfire, killing at least 60 people, injured 145 others and setting fire to the venue in a brazen attack just days after President Vladimir Putin cemented his grip on power in a highly orchestrated electoral landslide.

The attack took place as crowds gathered for performance by Picnic, a famous Russian rock band. Russian news reports said that visitors were being evacuated, but some said that an unspecified number of people could have been trapped by the blaze.

In the deadliest attack in Russia since the 2004 Beslan school siege, gunmen sprayed civilians with bullets just before Soviet-era rock group “Picnic” was to perform to a full house at the 6,200-seat the Crocus City Hall just west of Moscow.

The attack, which left the concert hall in flames with a collapsing roof, was the deadliest in Russia in years and came as the country’s war in Ukraine dragged into a third year.
