Police Officers were called to the home in Southwest Ranches by a house assistant and found Davis dead, according to the Davie Police Department. Preliminary information suggests foul play is not involved, and the investigation is active, police added.

The Broward County Office of Medical Examiner and Trauma Services said Monday that it could take up to 90 days to determine Davis’ cause of death, pending a full examination and further testing.

Davis had a superb college career at Illinois before he was picked in the first-round of the 2009 draft by the Miami Dolphins. He was known for his thoughtful and quiet demeanour.
