'The Bear' win Golden Globes

‘The Bear’ Wins the Best Comedy award at the Golden Globes

The 2024 Golden Globes served up ‘The Bear’ as the victorious Best Musical or Comedy Series! Going head-to-head with shows like Barry, Abbott Elementary, Only Murders in the Building, Jury Duty, and Ted Lasso, the FX series, led by Jeremy Allen White, emerged triumphant. When announced as the night’s winner, the entire cast graced the stage, while Lionel Boyce, portraying Marcus Brooks, the show’s bread baker-turned-pastry chef, accepted the award on their behalf.

Lionel Boyce accepted the award for best comedy series. “[I] also just want to say, most importantly, thank you to the entire restaurant community,” said Boyce. “We play these characters for a couple of hours a day for a couple of months out of the year. But this is y’all’s reality, the highs and the lows. So thank you for embracing us while we tell this story.”

Ayo Edebiri won her first Golden Globe for best actress in a TV comedy. “Everybody at ‘The Bear,’ that’s my family,” Edebiri said in her breathless acceptance speech. “I love you guys so much. It’s an honor to work with you and grow alongside you. All of my agents, managers, assistants, the people who answer my emails, y’all are real ones,” she added. “Thank you for answering my crazy, crazy emails.”

Edebiri beat fellow nominees Natasha Lyonne, Quinta Brunson, Rachel Brosnahan, Selena Gomez, and Elle Fanning.

“I love you guys so much,” White said during his acceptance speech. “I must have done something right to be in your company.”

He won out over fellow nominees Jason Sudeikis, Bill Hader,  Jason Segel, Steve Martin, and Martin Short.

According to White, season three of The Bear will find the gang headed back into the kitchen now that the restaurant is up and running. Who gets Carmy out of the freezer, however, is still anyone’s guess.
